PURPOSE:To obtain a tool for manufacturing glass products excellent in thermal shock resistance and free from deterioration, etc., in the part to be in contact with glass, by forming at least the part to be in contact with glass by use of an Ni alloy containing prescribed percentage of Cr. CONSTITUTION:At least the part to be brought into contact with glass is composed of a Cr-Ni alloy consisting of 20-50wt%, preferably 42-48wt% in particular, of Cr and the balance Ni to form the desired tool for manufacturing glass products. This Cr-Ni alloy has a thermal conductivity of 0.021-0.027 cal/ cm.sec. deg.C that is about one-eighth that of soft iron and also has a coefficient of thermal expansion of (120-150X10<-7>) that is close to that of glass (50-130X10<-7>) and, moreover, it has superior corrosion resistance. In forming the tool of this invention, above-mentioned Cr-Ni alloy may be applied either to the whole body or only to the part to be brought into contact with glass.
