The invention relates to a method for calibrating a flowmeter with oval wheels and compensated flowmeter thus obtained. The flowmeter is supplied with a sample of fluid of reference volume Vo greater than the elementary volume of the chamber or slightly greater than an integer multiple k of the volume of the latter, Vo = kVc + epsilon . epsilon being a volume equal to a few percent of the volume Vc.
