The invention relates to an improved tile of the type of that described in the main application. This tile has a convex cover part 1 juxtaposed laterally with a concave eaves part 2 with a downwards offset with respect to this eaves part. These two parts have a frustoconical shape, the cover part 1 having a width which decreases from its bottom end towards its top end and the eaves part 2 on the contrary, having a width which increases from its bottom end towards its top end. The cover part 1 further comprises laterally on its lower face a longitudinal interlocking system which has a bottom 4 delimited by a rim 5 and which ensures the transverse assembly of the tiles. Stopping the rim 5 at a distance from the bottom end of the interlocking system 3 which is substantially equal to the longitudinal offset makes it possible to assemble the tiles perfectly in the region of the zone where the eaves parts of two tiles in contiguous rows overlap. <IMAGE>
