PURPOSE:To obtain a paint having improved leatheriness, flexibility and adhesion, by polymerizing a vinyl chloride monomer or a mixture thereof with copolymerizable monomers in the presence of a specified thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer. CONSTITUTION:A paint is obtd. by polymerizing 100pts.wt. vinyl chloride monomer (MVC) or mixture thereof with copolymerizable monomer in the presence of 3-100pts.wt. thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer (TPU) having a softening point of 20-100 deg.C and soluble in said monomer or monomer mixture. When the softening point of said TPU is higher than 100 deg.C, the TPU is difficulty soluble in MVC or an MVC-like monomer, while when the softening point is lower than 20 deg.C, the resulting polymer has low tensile strength and low heat resistance. The paint is industrially useful as a covering material for interior finish materials for automobile, business and office machines and speakers.
