PURPOSE:To obtain a highly accurate thermometer, by displaying an estimated value when a difference between the estimated value and an actually measured value reaches a specified value in comparison therewith. CONSTITUTION:With a power source switch 7 ON, a CPU3 actuates a temperature sensor 1 to memorize temperature information being fed constantly through an A/D converter 2 into a memory 4. The CPU3 is provided with a parameter P decision means which determines whether a parameter P for computing an estimated value is the normal temperature rising rate at the measurement of body heat as preset or not, an estimated value computation means for computing a convergent temperature by a fixed formula based on the parameter P and a display switching means. After the start of the temperature inspection, an actually measured temperature is displayed 5 while the parameter P is determined. Then, a difference between a estimated value calculated and the actually measured temperature reaches a preset specified value (e.g. 0.5 deg.C) in comparison therewith, the display of the actually measured value is switched over to that of the estimated value. Thus, the displayed estimated value gives a stable and reliable convergent value.
