摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain large current per weight of a platinum group by manufacturing a cake by filtrating a mixture of hydrophilic and water repellent carbon black, water, and polytetrafluoroethylene, and also manufacturing a cake by filtrating a mixture of water repellent carbon black, water, and polytetrafluoroethylene. CONSTITUTION:A cake is manufactured by filtrating a mixture of hydrophilic and water repellent carbon black, water, and polytetrafluoroethylene, and also a cake is manufactured by filtrating a mixture of water repellent carbon black, water, and polytetrafluoroethylene. The both cakes are permeated with solvent, and pressed and bonded to form a complex sheet having a specified thickness. The complex sheet is heated to remove water and solvent to prepare a gas diffusion electrode raw material sheet. A platinum group compound solution is impregnated in a reaction layer raw material sheet containing the hydrophilic carbon black, and heat-decomposed to deposit a metal and/or an oxide of the platinum group on the sheet. Thereby, a gas diffusion electrode with a reaction layer and a gas diffusion layer is manufactured. The gas diffusion electrode in which an electrolyte comes in contact with the whole platinum group metal in the reaction layer to undergo the catalytic reaction can be manufactured.
