An oven (10) is assembled from a number of oven members (11) which are placed one behind another and interconnected and which each have at least four identical corner stones (12) and two pairs of connecting plates (14, 16). All elements (12, 14, 16) of an oven member (11) are interconnected positively and fastened to one another by mortar or adhesive. An oven constructed in a modular manner from a few chamotte brick types with a combustion chamber which is curved all around is produced. <IMAGE>
