The cheek or closure block region of a pair of spectacles comprises the catch systems of toggle lever catch (1, Figure 1a) and hose band clip (clamp) (7, Figure 1b). Both catch systems permit the spectacle lenses which are to be mounted to be fixed quickly and in a manner absorbing tolerances. In the case of the toggle lever catch (1), the differing glass circumference produced during seating of the lens is compensated for simply by adjusting the catch setting (2), and in the case of the hose band clip (7) by turning the grub screw on the thread lead (9) provided. Both catch systems allow the optician to fit the lenses to the spectacle frame quickly and without difficulty. <IMAGE>
