PURPOSE:To eliminate a decrease in the efficiency of a power source by converting a voltage under the switching condition of the highest efficiency in response to the ratio of an input voltage to an output voltage. CONSTITUTION:The DC/DC converter of a power source connects a choke coil 103 with a battery 101 when a transistor (Tr) 104 is made ON, discharges the power stored at this time when the Tr 104 is turned OFF, rectified by a rectifier D1, and output. In this case, a CPU 100 for controlling the switching operation of the Tr 104 is provided, and the DC input voltage of the coil 103 and the DC output voltage of the diode D1 are input through dividing resistors R1-R4 to the input terminals A/D0-A/D1. To switch the Tr 104 of the converter in the highest efficiency, the current change of ON/OFF periods may be equalized. Thus, the switching duty ratio of the Tr 104 is determined in response to the voltage ratio of the input/output. Thus, the voltage can be converted in the highest efficiency in response to the states of the battery 101 and a load.
