NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (<1>R-<8>R is H or alkyl; A and B are residue of aromatic compound). EXAMPLE:Octamethyltetrasila[2,2]paracyclophane. USE:An organic photo-electric conversion material. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be produced by (1) reacting di(p-halogenophenyl)tetraalkyldisilane compound of formula II (X and Y are halogen) [e.g. di(p-bromophenyl)tetramethyldisilane] with magnesium and (2) reacting the obtained Grignard reagent with 1,2-dihalogenotetraalkyldisilane of formula III (e.g. 1,2-dichlorotetramethyldisilane). The starting compound of formula II is produced by reacting p-dihalogenobenzene compound of formula X-A-X and Y-B-Y with the compound of formula III. |
