PURPOSE:To easily double a recording-capacity without any alteration in a computer main body by providing a monostable circuit which is supplied with an index signal to output a signal delayed by a time necessary for a half turn of a medium. CONSTITUTION:The titled device consists of the following: the monostable circuit to delay the index signal 4 for the time necessary for a half turn of the medium, a flip-flop 2 whose output comes to a high-state when inputted the signal 4 but to a low-state when inputted said delayed signal, and a signal switching circuit 3 which passes the output signal from the flip-flop circuit 2 as it is when an external selecting signal is in low-level but inverses said signal when the selecting signal is in high-level and outputs it. Consequently, data on the front and the rear surfaces of a conventional medium can be recorded on one-circle of track on one surface of the medium, and furthermore, by halving the r.p.m., the rate of data transmission can be made the same as conventional, and the device can be used in the same manner as with the conventional.
