The invention relates to a vehicle seat with seat part and back part, at least one of these parts having a foamed base body with an inner region and an outer region and these regions being separated from one another by a groove at the outer and upper side, respectively, of the part in question. A first cover element is bonded to the outer side of the inner region, and a second cover element is bonded to the outer region, both cover elements reaching into the groove and ending there. A flexible decorative plastic strip is arranged in the groove between the cover parts and is sewn to the latter. According to the invention, the decorative strip is first retained in a tool in order to hold the cover elements in the desired position during the covering of the base body. After the attachment of the cover elements to the foamed base body, the seat is released from the tool, and the projecting portion of the decorative strip is torn off. |
