PURPOSE:To obtain a light spectrum analyzer which is based on a processing by an electric method, by using an oscillator and an acoustooptical polarizer. CONSTITUTION:A parallel light beam of a light source 1 is made incident into an acoustooptic polarizer 2 while an output of an oscillator 3 is applied thereto for driving. An ultrasonic wave is generated within the polarizer 2 to emit a primary diffraction emission light. The light output is made incident into an optical system 5 through a lens 4. Optical paths of the lens 4, the optical system 5 and a light receiving unit 6 are fixed to match the angle of the primary diffraction light. With such an arrangement, only in the combination which allows the product of a wavelength lambda of the light source 1 and an output frequency f0 of the oscillator 3 to keep a specified refraction angle theta at a fixed value, light of the light source 1 passes through the optical system 5 to be detected with the light receiving unit 6. Thus, the frequency of the oscillator 3 at which the light is detected with the light receiving unit 6 is found by sweeping an output frequency f0 of the oscillator 3 in a range of f0+ or -DELTAf thereby enabling reading of the wavelength of the light source 1. |
