PURPOSE:To attain the miniaturization and to make the pass band broad by using a band pass filter being the combination of a cavity resonator and a dielectric resonator. CONSTITUTION:The center frequency of band pass filters 8, 9 is adjusted respectively to f1, f2 and the filters are connected to a main waveguide 1 at distances L1, L2 being nearly a half of an integral number of multiple of the guide wavelength respectively. Radio waves of the frequencies f1, f2 incident in the main waveguide 1 are branched respectively to waveguides 2a, 2b. Since the radio waves of frequencies other than the frequencies f1, f2 are reflected in the band pass filters 8, 9, the waves do not appear in the branch waveguides 2a, 2b but are reflected in the main waveguide 1. Since the band pass filters 8, 9 are constituted in the title branching filter by using two pairs of cavity resonators 5a, 5d and 5e, 5h and two pairs of dielectric resonators 3a, 3b and 3c, 3d, the branching filter is miniaturized more than a conventional one, and since the cavity resonators 5a, 5d and 5e, 5h are used for the 1st stage and final stage requiring much coupling quantity, a broad band characteristic being nearly 10% is obtained as the specific band width of the pass band similarly as a conventional filter.
