<p>PURPOSE:To effectively cultivate animal cells at a high density, by the presence of polyvinylpyrrolidone in a culture fluid using a blood serum-free culture medium in a method for cultivating the animal cells in a suspended state in a cultivation vessel. CONSTITUTION:In cultivation of animal cells by a perfusion method, the animal cells are cultivated in a state of cells suspended in a culture fluid using a blood serum-free culture medium. An inorganic material, vitamin, glucose and other normal additives are added to an aqueous medium consisting substantially of water and about 0.1-10g/l polyvinylpyrrolidone is further added. Thereby the cultivation can be carried out even at a density as high as about >=10<6> cells/ml.</p> |
