PURPOSE:To obtain water- and dust-proof effects by interposing and squeezing a 2nd elastic member which is more pliable than an insulator between the insulator for fixing a lead wire to a housing and the housing. CONSTITUTION:When a bolt 4 and a nut 8 are tightened, a terminal plate 5 to be connected to a primary side of an ignition coil, a terminal plate 7 to be connected to a contact breaker by means of a lead wire 9, and a terminal plate 6 to be connected to a spark capacitor are fixed to a housing 3 with an insulator 1 made of hard plastic and an elastic body 2 made of silicone rubber interposed in between. Here, the insulator 1 is squeezed to a thickness (t) of a fitting part due to effect of a slit 101 and fitted securely to a housing 3. At the same time, an elastic body 2 is pressed with a certain compression ratio to prevent water or the like completely from entering inside of a distributor. Thus, the distributor of high reliability, good productivity and ease of assembly can be constituted.
