PURPOSE:To make the captioned sail spreadable and contractible by forming a leading edge part and a trailing edge part with members having wind type cross sections and rigidity, making a wing part provided in between said edge parts an air bag structure, and providing wires in said leading edge part and trailing edge part. CONSTITUTION:In the housed condition of a sail 5 in which air is taken out of a front wing part 5A and a rear wing part 5B, when compressed air is fed into the front wind part 5A and the rear wing part 5B through a conduit 11 while relaxing wires 13, 14, the front wing part 5A and the rear wing part 5B are expanded spreading the sail 5. When the sail 5 is completely spread, a closing valve 10 is closed. On the other hand, when the wires 13, 14 are wound up by means of a winch 15 after the closing valve 10 of the conduit 11 is opened, the leading edge part 6 and the trailing edge part 7 are drawn toward a central frame body 8, folding up the sail 5 compactly.
