摘要 PURPOSE:To enhance a frequency characteristic and to increase a recording speed, by making the cross-sectional area crossing the flow direction of an ink liquid at a right angle of the flow passage of the part, which is provided with an electromechanical converter element, of an ink liquid jet nozzle larger toward the leading end side of the nozzle. CONSTITUTION:The ink flow passage at the part provided with a piezoelectric element of the ink flow passage in a nozzle main body 31 is made larger in its cross-sectional area in the A-A' line direction, which crosses the flow direction of ink 35 at a right angle, toward the leading end side of a nozzle. When the piezoelectric element 32 contracts upon the reception of pulse voltage at the time of recording, the ink 35 in the nozzle main body 31 largely receives the force to a left direction going to the leading end side of the nozzle as compared with the force to the opposite direction by the pressure of said piezoelectric element 32 through the shape of the nozzle main body 31 windening toward the leading end side of the nozzle. By this force and the action of the sonic wave generated at this time, an ink droplet is injected from the jet orifice 31a at the leading end of the nozzle to perform recording. In this case, the sound pressure of the sonic wave transmitted to the leading end side of the nozzle becomes markedly larger than that of the sonic wave transmitted to the rear end side thereof. Therefore, the sonic wave reflected by a filter 34 is small and the vibration of a meniscus M after the injection of the ink droplet is suppressed and the cycle injecting the ink droplet can be shortened and the enhancement of a frequency characteristic and the increase in a recording speed are attained.
