<p>The electronic ignition system for i.c. engines is designed to operate efficiently at low ambient temperatures and low battery voltage by means of temp. dependent resistor in a feed back loop to vary the saturation of a transistor oscillator. The temp. sensitive resistor is in series with the feedback resistor and transformer winding connected between base and emitter of a transistor oscillator. The thermistor varies the saturation of the oscillator in inverse proportion to the ambient temp. A third winding (secondary) of the oscillator transformer supplies the storage capacitor which discharges into the primary winding of the ignition coil when the thyristor is triggered.</p>
