PURPOSE:To improve safety, by a method wherein, in a device which drives a hydraulic motor for driving wheels by means of oil discharged from an engine- driven hydraulic pump, a brake is operated through the spring force of a brake cylinder with a spring during stop of the hydraulic pump due to engine stop or other like causes. CONSTITUTION:In a hydraulically-driven vehicle which is caused to run by feeding working oil from an engine-driven hydraulic pump 1 to a hydraulic motor 2, a neutral clutch valve 21 is brought to a closed condition during operation of the hydraulic pump 1, and a part of working oil is fed to a brake cylinder 15, provided with a spring, through check valves 18 and 19. Thus, a piston in the cylinder 15 is moved backward as it compresses a spring 16, an ordinary braking control is practicable. Meanwhile, when the hydraulic pump 1 is brought to a stop due to an engine stop or other like causes, the neutral clutch valve 21 is opened by means of a detecting signal for such stop, and working oil in the cylinder 15 is discharged, resulting in actuation of a master cylinder through a rod 17 through the force of the spring 16 to perform braking. |
