In a device for coupling an auxiliary jaw (5) to a basic jaw (4) of a chuck (1), which basic jaw (4) has a projecting mushroom-shaped extension (11), by means of which the auxiliary jaw (5), provided with an adapted recess (14) having an undercut (15), can be coupled to the basic jaw (4), a locking pin (18) which engages in the auxiliary jaw (5) in an axially displaceable manner being provided for locking in the coupled position, an adjusting bolt (21) rotatably mounted in a bore (20) of the basic jaw (4) serves to actuate the locking pin (18). The adjusting bolt (21) is positively connected to the locking pin (18) by means of an eccentric collar (22) and has a key opening (27) at the outer end. This design enables the auxiliary jaws (5) to be easily exchanged manually and in a simple manner and ensures that they are coupled to the basic jaws (4) in an operationally reliable manner. In addition, it is possible to recognise when the locking pin (18) is in engagement in the locating bore (17) of the auxiliary jaws during a jaw change. <IMAGE>
