PURPOSE:To obtain the titled antibiotic useful as a feed additive for the purpose of growth promotion of animal, improving effect on feed efficiency, etc., by cultivating a bacterium capable of producing nosiheptide in a medium containing protein extracted from soybean and purified. CONSTITUTION:A bacterium [e.g., Streptomyces glaucogriseus NRRL 12514, etc.,] capable of producing nosiheptide is cultivated in a medium containing preferably 0.2-4wt% protein extracted from soybean and purified preferably under an aerobic condition at 25-33 deg.C at pH 6.0-8.0 to give the aimed sulfur- containing polypeptide antibiotic. |
