Process and devices for the direct aerobic treatment of liquid organic wastes

The economic use and processing of such waste waters which arise in agriculture or as domestic and industrial effluent is not possible without high losses of nutrients, in particular nitrogen, and high environmental pollution, such as high nitrate accumulation in the groundwater. The liquid to be processed is introduced via the pipe 2 into the channel-like closed vessel 1, passes through it and exits via the transfer tube 3. During this passage, process air is circulated by a pump unit through the liquid 4 in very fine bubbles via the lower air space 5 and the foam mats 6, the gaseous ammonia likewise dissolving by constant binding of the dissolved ammonia in protein bodies and then converting as a result of the course of the process into nitrate and then into protein. <IMAGE>
