PURPOSE:To enable detection of whether the flame of each burner is normal and to enable detection of the accurate number of burners wherein flame is established, by determining a ratio of a current, generated by a flame rod detecting a current generated by a flame of a single burner, to a current, generated by a flame rod detecting a current generated by flames of all burners. CONSTITUTION:When a current, detected by a current detecting means 7a for a short first flame rod 4a disposed in a manner to make contact with the flame of a burner 1e, is i1 and a current, detected by a current detecting means 7b for a second flame rod 4b disposed in a manner to make contact with the flames of all burners 1a-1e, is i2, a computing means 11 determines i2/i1=K to determine n=K/alpha, wherein alpha is a correction value related to a difference between the positions of the flame rods 4a and 4b. In this case, when (n) is equal to 1, only the flame of the short flame rod 4a is decided to be burning, and when (n) is equal to n1, n1 many burners are decided to be burning. In the case of K>K1, and K<K2, a part of the burners are decided not to be burning or to be performing incomplete combustion, and in the case of K2<=K<=K1, all the burners 1a-1e are decided to be performing normal combustion. |
