PURPOSE:To stress an inter-layer effect and to improve color reproducibility by incorporating a twin silver halide particles into >=1 layers of silver halide emulsion layers and incorporating a diffusive DIR compd. into >=2 photosensitive silver halide emulsion layers having different color sensitivities. CONSTITUTION:The emulsion layer in which the development restrainer or development restrainer precursor released from the DIR compd. is diffusive satisfies the following conditions: The DIR compd. is added and incorporated therein in such a manner that the magnitude relation of the development restraining powder of the development restrainer released from the DIR compd. incorporated into one color sensitive silver halide emulsion layer and the development restrainer released from the DIR compd. incorporated into the other color sensitive silver halide emulsion layer is reversed in the magnitude when the DIR compd. is exchanged and is incorporated into the photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer and that the development restraining power to the other photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer is larger than the development restraining power to the photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer incorporated with said restrainer. The inter-layer effect of both layers is thereby made larger between the different color sensitive layers by which the color reproducibility is improved and the photosensitive material having the excellent stability with age, and particularly the excellent stability at a high temp. and under a high humidity is obtd.
