PURPOSE:To make it possible to regulate the position of the other end of a bulb which is curved by pinching the exhaust pipe tip projecting at the other end with a tip chuck into a ring form while one end is held by an end chuck. CONSTITUTION:After a straight tube bulb 2a with one end held by an end chuck 3 is heated and softened in a heating furnace beforehand, the bulb 2a is transferred and the neck 9 of the other sealed end is pinched by a chuck 8 of a drum 7. Then the drum 7 is rolled in the direction of the arrow A and moved in the direction B to bend the straight tube bulb to form into a circular form. After the movement of the drum 7 to the arrow A and in the direction B is completed, a chuck 20 is operated immediately to pinch the tip 21. When the drum 7 and the chuck 8 are released to withdraw, a chuck 4 to prevent deformation is closed and holds about one fourth from the sealing end of the bulb 2.
