PURPOSE:To improve the reducibility of briquetted ore and the rate of powdering by reduction by firing raw pellets contg. solid fuel at a restricted rate of blending. CONSTITUTION:When gransules of fine iron ore are coated with solid fuel to produce raw pellets, the rate of blending of the solid fuel in the raw pellets is restricted to 2.8-3.8wt% (expressed in terms of total carbon). The resulting raw pellets are charged into a firing furnace provided with an endless mobile grate and briquetted ore of irregular shape is continuously manufactured by firing the raw pellets. By this method, fired briquetted ore made of an irregular aggregate of plural fired pellets and having a high rate of reduction and a high rate of powdering by reduction is obtd.
