PURPOSE:To enhance the product yield and product strength of briquetted ore by firing raw pellets contg. fine powder whose grain size is kept under the optimum conditions. CONSTITUTION:When granules of fine iron ore are coated with solid fuel to produce raw pellets, the amount of fine powder of -5mm grain size in the raw pellets is restricted to <=10% of the amount of all the raw pellets. The resulting raw pellets are charged into a firing furnace provided with an endless mobile grate and briquetted ore of irregular shape is continuously manufactured by firing the raw pellets. By this method, fired briquetted ore made of an irregular aggregate of plural fired pellets and having superior product strength and a high product yield is obtd.
