APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING PULVERIZED POWDER BY LASER

PURPOSE:To easily produce pulverized powder having a uniform grain size by wires of various stocks by feeding the wire to a focus where a laser beam is converged by a parabola mirror, passing gas coaxially with the wire and blowing off the top end of the wire melted by the laser beam. CONSTITUTION:The laser beam 1 is converged by the parabola mirror 2 and the metallic wire 5 is fed through a hole 3 provided to the mirror 2 toward the focus of the laser beam 1. Gaseous flow 4 is passed coaxially with the wire 5 at the same instant so that the top end of the wire 5 melted by the laser beam 1 is blown off by the gaseous flow 4. The molten part of the wire 5 is thus pulverized.
