PURPOSE:To eliminate the formation of an unnecessary copy by discharging copying paper from a machine by a control means without forming any image when the detecting means of a manually inserted paper feed part decides that the detection timing of copying paper which is inserted manually is improper timing. CONSTITUTION:At the time of next copying paper is fed from a manual paper feed roller 12 and its front end reaches a timing roller 8 while the driving of the timing roller 8 is not stopped after the end of last copying operation, the copying paper is sent in a transfer part before a timing signal generated by the movement of an original platen 17. Thus, proper synchronous timing is obtained and if copying paper is inserted manually at improper timing where image formation is impossible, no image is formed on the copying paper, which is discharged onto a discharge paper receiver 16 as it is. The discharge paper is reusable.
