PURPOSE:To prevent pump efficiency from being lowered due to passage resistance at the time of sucking or discharging a fluid by forming a number of fluid entrances on the peripheral board part or the side board part of a hollow cylindrical rotary body both sides of which are covered, and providing a rotor having a vane inside said rotary body. CONSTITUTION:A rotary body 30 both ends of which are supported by bearings 24 and a rotor 10 having a vane 16 and housed in the rotary body 30, are provided in a cylindrical operating chamber which is formed by a center housing 22, a rear side housing 23, and a front side housing 21. The rotary body 30 is formed by a peripheral board part 32, and side board parts 31, 33, and a number of fluid entrances 35 which can be connected to a suction port 50 and a discharge port 40 which are formed on said center housing 22, are formed on the peripheral board part 32. By this structure, the pump efficiency of a vane pump can be prevented from being lowered due to passage resistance.
