In the case of shut-off valves exhibiting a sealing lining which is arranged in the housing and consists of a material with an insufficient restoring force, as is the case, for example, with fluoroplastics, a resilient assisting member is usually assigned to the sealing lining. The known combinations of sealing lining and resilient assisting member have different disadvantages such as restricted operating-temperature limit, no anchorage or insufficient anchorage between sealing lining and assisting member, etc. These disadvantages are eliminated in that the sealing lining, in a compressible, but relatively firm and correspondingly temperature-resistant material, is anchored in a positively locking manner via grooves.
