Compounds of formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or in vivo hydrolysable ester thereof have antibacterial activity: <IMAGE> (I) wherein R is hydrogen, C1-6 alkylcarbonyl or C1-6 alkyl; R1 is hydrogen or hydrocarbon; R2 is hydrogen, or optionally substituted hydrocarbon or optionally substituted heterocyclyl or CXRd, where X is O or S and Rd is hydrogen or optionally substituted hydrocarbon or optionally substituted heterocyclyl; or R1 and R2 together with the nitrogen to which they are attached, form an optionally substituted heterocyclyl group. A process for the preparation of such compounds and compositions comprising them, are also described. |
