PURPOSE:To improve driving stability and comfortability by positioning the wheel side of each lateral link adjacent to a wheel forward in the initial state in comparison with the completely assembled state so as to impart longitudinal precompression force to a trailing arm in the completely assembled state. CONSTITUTION:In the initial state in which a trailing arm 4 is not yet mounted, a shock absorber 5 is rubber mounted to a car body 18 in such a manner that the axis l is inclined downwardly, or lateral links 3A, 3B are attached inclinedly in such a manner that the outer sides are positioned forward in comparison with the inner ends to place a wheel 1 forward. In this state, when the trailing arm 4 has been completely assembled, the lateral links 3A, 3B deform rubber bushings 7B, 8B to extend along the width of the car body, so that a precompression force is applied to rubber bushings 10A, 10B. This construction improves driving stability and comportability against a rear load. |
