PURPOSE:To improve the processing speed for data write by constituting a head part, which outputs a laser beam, with a write-only head and a read-only head. CONSTITUTION:Another head part (only for read) is added to the head part of a conventional optical disk device. That is, write-only head part 5 and a read-only head part 6 are provided on a head pedestal 4 arranged under a freely rotatably provided optical disk medium 1. Since data is written by the write-only head part 5 and a written sector is read by the read-only head part 6, the latency time required from the write to the read for confirmation of correct write is shortened.
