PURPOSE:To make a device in a vibration-resistant structure, to prevent the position of a magnetic head from dislocating, and to prevent the head from coming off a track by forming a spindle and a carriage in a symmetrical shape, arranging bearings at both ends, and supporting both ends of them with a box type shaped housing. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is formed so that the bearings are arranged at the both ends of a spindle 21 and a carriage 22 shaped in a symmetrical form, and they are structured to be supported both ends of them with the box type shaped housing 23, and the device is sealed by attaching a cover 26. Since the housing 23 supporting the carriage 22 is shaped in a box type shape, and also has a rigidity, the housing 23 is not deformed even when it receives a reaction force in the rapid moving and terminating time of the magnetic head in a seek time. In this way, the dislocation of the magnetic head can be prevented from generating, and an off track is not generated.
