PURPOSE:To simplify the retrieving operation by registering the information on the constitution so that it can receive an access with the discriminating information given to a table and reading out the information on the constitution in response to a retrieving command to give an access to the data record. CONSTITUTION:Both the table information 21 and the column information 22 produced optionally by an operator can be registered to an external memory device 4 which stores a data dictionary containing the data base defining information. The information 22 is produced from the record information on the data base forming a table and the information on relation between the records. The information 22 can also be pointed from the information 21 and at the same time both information 21 and 22 are registered in a pair for each table. The table name set in a register mode is inputted from a terminal equipment and displayed for acquisition of the desired data. Thus it is possible to obtain the output of a table style with a simple indication regardless of the structure of the data base.
