PURPOSE:To contrive miniaturization of the title sensor and to detect accurate color temp. by increasing the number of the detection points of color signal information, by electrically limiting the wavelength of transmitted light using a transmission type color liquid crystal display apparatus. CONSTITUTION:The transmission type color liquid crystal display apparatus of a color temp. sensor permits the passage of the light from a light source irradiating an object to output transmitted light 18 having a certain range of a wavelength. The range of the wavelength of said transmitted light 18 is limited by the control signal from CPU3 and timewise changed to timewise divide the spectral characteristics of the light 17 to output transmitted light 18. This time-divided transmitted light 18 is inputted to a photoelectric converter 2 and converted to an electric signal 19 to be outputted. By controlling the sensor using the apparatus in place of a fixing type color filter, various filter characteristics are formed and the number of the detection points of color signal information are increased and color temp. is accurately detected by the small-sized color temp. sensor.
