PURPOSE:To move a head carriage to a desired position with a small rotation torque by moving the carriage by an oscillation signal while vibrating after the long movement of a magnetic head is finished. CONSTITUTION:An oscillator 14 which oscillates a frequency higher than an exciting phase and a signal converter 16 for converting to the transmission of the oscillation pulse of the oscillator 14 for a predetermined time after the transmission of a step signal 15 is finished. Thus, after the long movement of a magnetic head is finished by excitation signals A, B by the signal 15, a high frequency current by the oscillation pulse of the oscillator 14 is fed to an exciting coil 11. Thus, a head carriage 5 is moved on a guide rod while vibrating. When the carriage 5 is moved to the rod 6 as a dynamic friction, the carriage 5 can be moved due to a stepping motor 1 with sufficiently small rotary torque as compared with the conventional movement of static friction. |
