PURPOSE:To reduce the frictional resistance between a film and a seal member and ensure secure contact between the film and a heat generating element surface, by a construction wherein that side of the film which is brought into contact with a film winding shaft can be brought into contact with the heat generating element surface of a thermal head. CONSTITUTION:When film winding shafts 137, 138 are rotated counterclockwise as indicated by arrows, a film 2 is also moved leftward (counterclockwise) as indicated by an arrow, and is wound around the film winding shafts 137, 138. The angle alpha between the film 2 and a heat generating element surface 108 of a thermal head 1 at the point at which the film 2 comes into contact with a top part of the thermal head 1 and that beta at the point at which the film 2 comes into contact with the shaft 137, 138 are set to be 0-45 deg.. Accordingly, the contact area between the film and a film guide member 135 is reduced, and the film 2 is brought into secure contact with the heat generating element surface 108 without any gap therebetween. |
