PURPOSE:To collect slime, and sludge water at an original position where a sample is to be collected by executing a descent into the water by a chain, and drawing-up of a collector which has a pressure leading-in hole, and an intake hole provided with a valve for opening and closing in accordance with a variation of pressure. CONSTITUTION:A collector A and a pressure supply source D, etc. are provided on a marine vessel and a valve 20 is closed and a valve 18 is opened in a desired water area, and from a pressure supply source D, compressed air is fed into a container E through a pressure leading-in hole 7 and pressure is applied. In such a state, the vessel E is made to descend to a prescribed water depth by a chain 11, and when the pressure is reduced in this position, a ball valve 15 is opened, and a sample of sea water or sludge, etc. in the vicinity of an intake hole 13 flows in. After collecting it, the valve 15 is closed by applying the pressure into the vessel E, the collector A is drawn up, the valve 20 is opened and the valve 18 is closed on the sea or an land, and the inside of the vessel E is brought to pressure reduction, and the sample is extracted by opening the valve 15.
