PURPOSE:To easily find out even a small defect by setting the irradiation light quantity of laser light beam at reproduction at >=2 stages and checking the irradiated light quantity while being made weaker than a normal state in checking the recording information just after the information is recorded on the optical disc. CONSTITUTION:The irradiated light quantity of a laser beam 12 at reproduction is set for 2 stages or over and in checking the recording information just after the information is recorded on the optical disk 1, the irradiated light quantity is made weaker than a normal state for the check. Let the light quantity at normal reproduction be Pr1 or Pr2, then the light quantity at the check just after the information is recorded on the optical disc 1 is quantity Pr3 weaker than the light quantity Pr1 or Pr2 at the normal reproduction. Since the irradiated light quantity at reproduction is set dependingon the kind of the optical disk, the irradiated light quantity suitable for the king of the optical disk is selected and reproduced by the best state. Then, a small defect is easily found out and an error having the possibility generated later is precluded in advance.
