PURPOSE:To obtain high light fastness by incorporating a specified compound into a layer having a specified oxidation potential, contg. a fading inhibitor and forming a magenta dye image as at least one of silver halide emulsion layers. CONSTITUTION:The oxidation potential eOX of one of silver halide emulsion layers is regulated to 0.95-1.50 and a compound represented by a formula CP T nLIG [where CP is a group separating -T-nLIG as a function of the development of silver halide, T is a group capable of releasing LIG during or after the separation of -T-nLIG, LIG is a ligand capable of forming a complex compound having a dye image stabilizing function by a complex forming reaction with a metallic ion, and n=0 or 1] is incorpo rated into the emulsion layer. When development is carried out, T nLIG is separated and LIG is released. Since this LIG can form a complex compound having a dye image stabilizing function, such a complex compound can be formed during or after the formation of a magenta dye image by supplying a metallic ion for forming the complex compound. The complex compound is formed as a function of development, so it is imagewise formed on the developed image forming part and can show an effective image stabilizing function. Thus, a sensitive material provided with high light fastness without deteriorating the whiteness can be obtd. |
