PURPOSE:To shorten the start time of an engine, by providing a torque control means for changing the driving torque of an oil feed means depending on the temperature of the engine when an engine starting motor is in action. CONSTITUTION:An oil feed means M1 of variable driving torque, which is driven by an engine EG to feed oil to a controller for an automatic transmission AT, is provided. A torque control means M3 is provided to perform control to change the driving torque of the oil feed means M1, depending on a temperature indicative of the degree of warm-up of a vehicle, when an engine starting motor SM is in action. The resistance to the rotatory power of the oil pump of the automatic transmission AT is thus reduced depending on the degree of warm-up of the engine EG to shorten the time that it takes to start the engine.
