PURPOSE:To aim at positioning a spindle with a high degree of accuracy, by providing a hybrid position control and computing section for computing a position error in accordance with detection signals from an absolute angle detector and an absolute position detector and a desired position instruction signal. CONSTITUTION:There are provided a resolver 40 associated with a spindle motor 6 and a resolver 41 associated with a spindle 10. Output signals RM, RF from these resolvers 40, 41 are delivered to a feed-back processing section 44 which is turn delivers phase data PM, PF. Further, the phase data PM are delivered to a hybrid position control and computing section 31, a speed control and computing section 22 and a vector control and computing section 23 while the phase data PF are delivered to the hybrid position control and computing section 31. As a result, it is possible to enhance the accuracy of positioning and the locking force for the position, to simplify the inside arrangement of a gear box and to enhance the flexibility of design of the spindle positioning device.
