PURPOSE:To prevent an inverter apparatus from stopping due to overload by computing the upper limit current enabling said apparatus to be started and by judging whether starting is possible or not. CONSTITUTION:Set points for a setter for inverter overload rated current 10, a setter for motor-starting current 11, a setter for the number of motors to be started 13 and an inverter output current from a signal converter 12 are respectively assumed to be A, C, r and B and the output real current value D of the inverter apparatus capable of being started is computed by the equation. As starting is impossible if the output real current value D is smaller than the output value B, the starting controller 14 outputs from the interlock signal output unit 14C a signal for interlocking each motor so that it cannot be started.
