PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of a circuit constitution and the picture quality by providing a superimposed circuit for superimposing a character and graphic signal on an part of a color video signal between a color video signal demodulator, a character and graphic signal generator and a driving circuit for driving a picture display device. CONSTITUTION:R2, G2, B2 and BLK signals of the output signals of the character and graphic signal generator 1 and primary color signals R0, G0, and B0 of the output signals of the color signal demodulator 2 form a matrix in a matrix circuit 3 and the primary signals Ra, Ga and Ba are connected to respective corresponding terminals of the picture tube driving circuit 6 to display a color television and the character and graphic signal on the picture tube. Thereby, since a pair of the driving circuits can be used simultaneously as the driving circuits of the character and graphic signal and the video signal, the efficient driving circuit constitution can be realized, the number of the using transistors and diodes can be reduced and the cost of the receiver can be reduced.
