PURPOSE:To safely perform downhill running, by constituting a device so as to enable a shiftdown to be automatically performed in the point of time an arithmetic unit automatically decides an automobile to be in the downhill running while the driver senses a hazard depressing a foot brake. CONSTITUTION:An arithmetic unit 1 inputs an engine speed N, engine load L, car speed or gear shift switch and a load signal. And the arithmetic unit 1, which obtains an automobile to be in downhill running by an arithmetic process, inputs a foot brake operative signal when the driver depresses a foot brake during the downhill running. And a shiftdown is executed by confirming the engine speed N to be smaller than a reference engine speed determined in every gear shift. as the result, the downhill running of the automobile can be safely performed. |
