<p>High voltage electrical switchgear comprises a chamber in which is enclosed input contacts, output contacts and earth contacts. Movable switch means may connect either the input to the output contacts or the output to the earth contacts. The output contacts are connected by a conductor extending through the wall of the chamber to a connector unit located externally of the chamber. The connector unit has a conductor moulded in situ in a housing having a socket receiving a plug cast integrally with the chamber and through which the conductor extends. An output cable is connected to the connector unit, which also provides contact for connection to a test unit. A cover protects the connector unit and interlock means act to allow opening of the cover only when the switch means connects the output contacts with the earth contacts.</p> |
