PURPOSE:To enable printing to be performed in two directions, by symmetrically arranging two groups of printing electrodes, in a resistance ribbon type printing head using a printed circuit board provided with printing electrode groups. CONSTITUTION:A printing head 1 comprises a printed circuit board 8, on which two printing electrode groups 6, 7 are symmetrically provided with a contact part 9 as a center of symmetry, and the head 1 being supported by a head support plate 2 is turned leftward or rightward with a fulcrum (b) as a center, whereby the printing electrode group 6 or 7 is pressed against a platen 3. When printing in a rightward direction, the head 1 is turned rightward, and the print ing electrode group 7 on one side together with a ribbon 4 pressed against a printing paper 5 wound around the platen 3, thereby printing. When printing in a leftward printing, the head 1 is turned in the direction of an arrow (a), and printing is similarly performed by the printing electrode group 6 on the other side. Accordingly, printing can be performed in both rightward and left ward directions. |
